These are so called "pure photographs", a term we group of students in late 80's used referring to this style, emotionally unburdened and uncredited with any external contents (like a human face, god forbid, or any realistic - documentarian situation). Pure photography had a small group of followers then, but it has remained impervious to the passage of time and styles. It is probably the most intimate form of expression my eye knows of.
